Black Doves Episode Guide
Christmas television does not usually begin with three carefully coordinated murders, but Black Doves has little interest in behaving itself. Across six tightly packed episodes, domestic secrets, political conspiracies and London’s criminal underworld become entangled beneath a generous coating of festive lights.
This episode guide follows the original Netflix release order, with a short, spoiler-light description for every instalment and a small selection of Skull Face’s Picks. The story is heavily serialised, so the highlighted episodes are the standouts rather than permission to skip the others.
Before you press play: Watching in order is essential. Each episode builds directly upon the previous one, while later descriptions may disclose general developments established earlier in the season.
The first season was released in full on 5 December 2024. A second season has been officially confirmed and is scheduled to arrive on Netflix on 5 November 2026, but no unreleased episodes are included below.
Season 1 (2024) – 6 Episodes
Helen Webb’s carefully separated lives collide when a series of murders threatens her family, her political cover and her position within the Black Doves. Her old friend Sam returns to London to protect her, drawing them both into a conspiracy with potentially international consequences.
Episode 1: To Love Then
Skull Face’s Pick
Politician’s wife and covert operative Helen Webb learns that Jason, the man with whom she has been conducting a secret affair, has been murdered. Her handler calls former assassin Sam Young back to London, but Helen is more interested in revenge than remaining safely out of sight.
Episode 2: A Little Black Dove
Flashbacks reveal how Helen was recruited by the Black Doves and began constructing the identity that would eventually place her beside Wallace. In the present, Sam investigates the possible connection between Jason’s murder, a missing woman and the suspicious death of a Chinese diplomat.
Episode 3: The Coming Night
Helen follows a dangerous lead involving someone within Wallace’s political circle, while Sam’s search takes him deeper into London’s criminal networks. The international stakes become clearer, although separating genuine intelligence from deliberate misdirection proves increasingly difficult.
Episode 4: Go Bang Time
Skull Face’s Pick
With Kai-Ming temporarily out of immediate danger, Sam turns his attention towards protecting the people now sheltering her. Helen undertakes a risky assignment involving the American embassy, where the leading suspect offers a very different account of the ambassador’s death.
Episode 5: The Cost of It All
The investigation begins to expose the people responsible for concealing the truth, placing Helen and Sam directly in the path of a powerful criminal family. Sam must also confront the consequences of decisions made seven years earlier, proving that professional killers rarely receive tidy redundancy packages.
Episode 6: In the Bleak Midwinter
Skull Face’s Pick
Helen enters a final confrontation determined to discover who ordered Jason’s murder, while Sam faces a decision that could create dangerous new enemies. The conspiracy is finally unravelled, but its political and personal consequences leave both friends facing uncertain futures.
